How to spot a fake Labubu
Fakes are everywhere, and some are unsafe for children. Check before you pay.
Warning signs
- Prices well below the official price, or sellers who aren't Pop Mart, its app or a verified retailer.
- Packaging that isn't matte, or a blurry POP MART holographic sticker.
- A QR code that doesn't lead to Pop Mart's official site.
- Pop Mart's description of a genuine Labubu: nine teeth, soft fur and clean paint. Newer editions have a silhouette that shows under UV light on one foot.
Safety
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has warned that counterfeit Labubus can break into small parts that are a choking hazard for young children. UK trading standards officers have seized fake Labubus at events.
